The Grand Old Man has been in his office at the base of Brooks Falls for many years.Ā His finely honed gastronomic talents have amazed both man and beast.Ā Otis is truly one of a kind, a Bear among bears.

The Otis Fund will directly contribute to the mission of Katmai Conservancy supporting Katmai National Park and Preserve.Ā Katmai ConservancyĀ supports education and interpretation both within and outside of the park, research and protection of the Park’s bears (Otis and Associates), and on the extensive cultural history that spans thousands of years.Ā We promote youth engagement in theĀ localĀ and online communities, as well as ensuring the environmental sustainability of our fragile Alaskan ecosystems.

Your Friends Gift will contribute to the mission of Katmai Conservancy to support Katmai National Park and Preserve. Katmai, with its 4 million acres, is the fourth largest park in the National Park system, and yet It is one of the least funded. With its amazing array of wildlife, coastal and river ecosystems, majestic mountains and volcanoes Katmai is a true National Treasure. Incidentally, Katmai is also home to BEARS!
Katmai Conservancy strives to support education and interpretation both within and outside of the park and research on the Park’s bears and extensive cultural history that spans thousands of years. Our goals also include promoting youth engagement in theĀ localĀ and online communities, as well as ensuring the environmental sustainability of the fragile Alaskan ecosystems.Ā A vital project is the improvement of the Park infrastructure, such as improvements to visitor centers, staff housing, and renovations for visitor safety.
Each of these projects is a worthy cause, seeking to improve the quality of the visitor experience as well as preserve the dynamic, unique landscape that includes Katmai and its surrounding communities. With your help, we can and will continue to make a difference.
